When I started my photography career, I was mainly interested in color and how it evokes emotions within a viewer. I decided to start capturing photos of the sky to create different feelings and emotions and created this sunset photography portfolio. Some of these images came before and after storms, and many are sunsets in the summer.
As I have grown in my career, I have discovered a love for photography and photo editing. Bringing out colors and evoking emotions through this form of digital art has become an exciting new adventure for me. My first major project in photography and photo editing came to me when my younger brother needed his senior pictures taken for graduation. I was asked to help organize, take, and edit these photos for my family and friends. Here are a few of the pictures I have taken and edited for you to enjoy. As I’ve mentioned before, I spend as much time as possible outdoors. The original goal of getting a degree in Digital Media Production and Zoo Conservation was to experience nature and share it with other people. As a part of my senior project for my Zoo Conservation major, I had the opportunity to partner with Powesheik County Conservation. One of the side projects I had with them was to take pictures of the Fox Forest Trail, which I was very excited to do. Here are some of the pictures post-edited for you to see.
My first experience with nature photography that was solely based on animals and tracking their movements. I toured Safari West while living in California for a few months in the fall of 2025. The animals here are allowed to free-roam within a large area of land. The biggest challenge with this series was getting clear images while riding on top of a safari truck during the tour.
